You can get a tax lien lists direct from a local courthouse or you can buy a national list from a tax lien list agent that gets the data. The last mentioned option would be practiced if you need to acquire a tax lien list that reports umpteen counties or states. It is just not achievable for one person to collect a tax lien list from all the county records offices each day. This is the reason why tax lien brokers are able to offer their service by building a database for you by compiling all the tax lien data from multiple courthouses so that you do not have to. Whether you choose to gather your own tax lien list or chooe to buy from a broker, either one is a great way for a tax resolution agent to receive in contact with someone who may have a national tax lien judgement registered in their name.

Urgent: Hydroxycut Class Action Have Recently Been Registered

Filed under: Hall Of Health, Legal Stuff, Support — admin @ 2:32 am

On May 1, 2009, there was a recall of 14 Hydroxycut diet-aid products springing from a number of reports that folks using the products were developing heavy liver problems and other health concerns. Less than seven days later, on May four, the first Hydroxycut class action lawsuit was filed against the company that manufactures the products, Iovate Medical Sciences. The Hydroxycut Settlements alleges company laxity in informing the public about potential perils of the products. Naturally, it’s too soon to know how the suit is going to turn out, but if the company had information which it did not reveal to buyers, it should definitely be held accountable.

A class action court action is filed by a bunch of folk, all of whom have similar claims against a certain company. Filing a class action is just as effective, and far less dear, than filing an individual suit. As a rule, filing a class action legal action will not cost you anything unless there’s a settlement. At that point, the lawyer who handled the suit will take his costs from the compensation that got given and then share the leftover funds to the plaintiffs in the case. Since this is the case, you’ll be ready to file a Hydroxycut class action suit without paying a penny out of your own pocket, which is one of the reasons that class action lawsuits have become so popular.

The first class action suit against Iovate was filed in Canada where the company is located and represents all Canadian citizens who sustained health problems due to Hydroxycut products. The FDA recall happened in the U. S. Where twenty-three cases of liver disorders and other health problems had been reported. Health Canada failed to receive any reports of liver damage due to the diet products, but they did receive 17 reports concerning folks who sustained breathing, neurological, cardio, and stomach problems as a result of Canadians using the products.

The Hydroxycut Liver Damage Suits alleges that the products without correctly informing the general public of the public of the health risks that they could exposing patrons to. The complaint states the company failed to publish the data on the product labels saying that users could run the risk of liver and kidney damage as well as gut, cardio, respiratory, and neurological issues. The suit goes on to allege that this was a blatant omission on the part of the company which deliberately misled buyers concerning the safety of the products.

Fake high visibility garments give no real protection

Filed under: Doing Business, Legal Stuff — admin @ 3:57 am

A new report on high visibility garments, worn by construction workers, road workers and cyclists, has raised serious concerns about the use of this critical form of personal protective equipment. It has been found that these garments being sold by many retailers are sub-standard and are thereby putting workers’ lives at risk.

The report reveals that high visibility clothing being sold by many of the UK’s supermarket chains as well as car accessory shops, are either fake or of such poor quality that they reflect only about 1% of the light they need to as per the accepted standard.

What makes the situation even more dangerous is that these garments are labelled properly, thus giving the user a false sense of security. The department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) is taking it upon itself to investigate the report and bring it to the attention of local Trading Standards Authorities.

The report is based on tests undertaken by the Reflective Manufacturers Association (REMA) on the high visibility garments in about 12 local authority jurisdictions through 2007 and 2008. REMA derisively commented that a piece of toilet paper would reflect more than the tested clothing.

REMA and HSB have now asked the government and the retailers to do everything in their power to prevent these garments from flooding the UK market. Making sure staff are appropriately trained can also reduce the risk of accidents in the workplace click here to visit the nebosh distance learning website.

This is just the latest in a flurry of recent reports raising concern regarding PPE. A few days back a study had revealed that almost one-fourth of the safety managers in the construction industry are ignorant of the levels of PPE required for different kinds of potential hazards. In yet another survey, it was discovered that due to the effects of the economic downturn, PPE usage and replacement were not at the levels that they should be.

Scaffolder’s Refused to Climb down over Health and Safety Issues

Filed under: Doing Business, Legal Stuff — admin @ 3:43 am

A dispute over what workers referred to as “life threatening health and safety issues” at Langage Energy Centre a power station under construction for the French company Alstom that led to a walkout by 50 scaffolder’s who were subsequently fired, has been resolved and the men have been fully reinstated.

The scaffolders who all work through company called Vange walked off the job last week and illegally picketed at the gates of the facility. The company has now agreed to urgently look into the complaints from the men about what they consider to be highly dubious health and safety issues on the site.

This is not the first time that the company has seen employees walk out over health and safety problems at the £400 million construction site. In August a similar protest erupted in which 200 workers walked off the job over health and safety irregularities.

Alstom has now pledged to fully investigate and resolve all of the workers safety fears which revolve around the company making use of what other workers see as completely “unqualified labour” which they see as a threat to their safety and possibly their lives.

Scaffolder’s claim that since the protest during the summer, not only were things not improving but in fact, the health and safety situation had deteriorated drastically. They have agreed that in future they will take no illegal action in order to settle disputes.

Health and safety issues can cause massive disruption to any workplace especially construction sites. Make sure that your company is fully aware of the latest health and safety regulations by contacting Workplace Law and finding out about their NEBOSH training courses.

Virginia Social Security Disability Lawyer: How Do You Choose a Good One?

Filed under: Legal Stuff — admin @ 11:26 pm

Social Security Disability Practice is a specialized field of law. If you needed brain surgery you would not go to a general practitioner. Similarly, if you need Social Security Disability you should go to a specialist. These are tips for finding a good one:

First, you can of course go to the Yellow Pages and look for attorneys who specialize in this field.

Second, you can check to see if the attorney has an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell. This is an organization that ranks attorneys from “CV” which means just starting out, to “BV” an attorney with some years of experience, and finally “AV” which means an attorney who has been recognized by his peers as having the highest ability.

Third, you should make sure the attorney is a member of the National Association of Social Security Representatives (NOSSCR).

Fourth, you should check the NOSSCR web site to make sure the attorney is on NOSSCR’s referral list. That site is www.NOSSCR.org

Fifth, check the attorney’s web site to see what information he/she provides about Social Security Disability Law and his/her experience.

Sixth, ask your friends and relatives.

Seventh, contact the Virginia State Bar to find out if any bar complaints have been filed against the attorney (804) 775-0570.

Eight, ask the attorney for his brochure on Social Security Disability Law.

After you have checked out the above you can be reasonably sure you will have an effective advocate before the Social Security Administration.
