If you’ve been following the debate surrounding the move by the U.S. State Kentucky’s attempt to seize several domain names of many popular online casino and gaming sites, deemed illegal in the U.S. then no doubt you’ve been holding your breath awaiting Judge Thomas Wingate’s ruling on the issue.
Well, now you can let out that breath as a sigh of relief. The ruling put a stay on the seizure of any domain name by the state until each of the owners of each domain name has their day in court.
But what’s the underlying motif of the Commonwealth for wanting to put a stop to the online poker gambling? Well, for one, there is quite profitable business in betting on horse racing in KY. So surely the blue bloods caught up in such a racket would strongly oppose any competition, especially one that isn’t producing direct revenue for their state. Make sense from a business perspective, sure, but as for the fairness.
Well, that best left to the people.
Judge Wingate’s ruling simply stated that the wanted to hear the other side, and such an opinion was surely influenced by the Poker Players’ Alliance John Pappas’ amicus brief (for those who don’t speak legalese, a brief in support of the online poker community).
While online poker blocking activity via IP address is one thing, namely internet censorship, seizure of domain names in and of itself is something that the Commonwealth is doing that oversteps it’s bounds. After all, many of these sites are operated overseas from the US.
Do we have a potential civil matter in the works that could be an issue settled by the United Naitons in the international court of justice?
Regardless, the PPA, has vowed to fight this til the bitter end, taking all appellant measures necessary to ensure equal access to the internet for all citizens of the US.
Such censorship would not progress in the way the U.S.is supposed to be known to adhere to. Instead, such a move would be placing the U.S. on the path moving towards an Old China or a North Korea, where the people lose their guaranteed freedoms in place of a government agenda.

The lowest winning hand in pokern is the high card. Winning with the high card means that no one else even got a pair, and you’ve got the highest single card out of everyone else at the table. With two cards in each player’s hand and five on the table, what do you think the odds are that you’ve got the highest card? Pretty bad.
If the flop comes out and you don’t even hold a decent pair, it is probably time to fold. This may seem like a pretty basic idea, but many poker players tend to ignore this rule. Whether impatient or just plain reckless, many players will stay in a hand with a mere high card hoping beyond hope that everyone else has something worse.
Whether this comes from desperation or just a need to be in the game, this is a terrific way to get out of the game early. Only on the rarest occasions does the high card pay off, so keep this thought in mind: if you don’t get a decent poker hand on the flop, it’s probably time to get out the heck out of the hand. Or you might be busting man!

The video gaming experience is different for everyone, it could end in hours of entertainment for a family or for the less experience, the final result could be disappointment due to lack of knowledge of how to operate the game console. When you are shopping for a new game console, you may find it difficult as there are so many different options to choose from. The information you are looking for can be very difficult to find, but you will find there’s a lot of misinformation out there.
First off, here are some questions that you need to ask yourself and you should keep in mind while reading:
-What are the types of games that interest you?
Do you plan on buying an HDTV anytime soon or do you already have one?
Why dont we go over your financial situation so we can figure out what your budget is for it?
Do you prefer multi-player games, or single-player games?
Do you currently have any of the old game systems?
The PlayStation 3 was the most pricey for quite a while. It’s a good thing that you will now find lower prices on them. Now priced at four hundred US dollars (contingent upon which style you purchase)this price is more comparable. Prices change constantly so chech the latest games consoles prices online.
The Playstation 3 is more than another mere game console! It has the capability to be a Blu-Ray, CD, or DVD player; as well as; it can upgrade DVDs to HD. Blu-Ray is now the leading high-definition film format; thus, if you’ve got an HDTV but no HD movie player, a PS3 might be a great means of getting both your movie and your gaming needs met in just one place. Without an HDTV display, movies in Blu-ray format don’t provide any better quality. That feature will not be of any use to you if you have only an old-fashioned standard-def TV.
While the PS2 controller is nearly identical to it, this unique controller utilizes a motion sensing technology known as Sisaxis. The controller, which can be tilted in six different directions, is able to sense which of the directions to which it has been tilted. The results vary from game to game based on well this has been incorporated. If it is not done properly it can be very annoying, but it can add to your experience if it’s done correctly. You need to keep in mind that the Sixasis controller is missing the vibration feature. The DualShock 3 controller with vibration will not be included with the new PS3’s, even though it has been released, until June 12, 2008.
Video games for the PS3 and Xbox 360 are pretty much the same the same for either system.

Have you ever tried to tell a friend that he is just not that good at poker? Not an easy task. Then imagine you have to tell that to your girlfriend or wife. A nightmare, trust me!
My wife is amazing at several sports. She is an excellent scuba diver, plays golf almost professionally, and she can be quite tough on the tennis court. Similarly, when it comes to casual games she be a strong team player, whether on a Trivial game or any board game.
The problem really arises with card games, poker in particular. Every Thursday night for the past year or so she has been organizing Texas Holdem tournaments and inviting our best friends (and “inviting” is actually an euphemism, as this is really a mandatory event, if you know what I mean, unless you no longer want t be considered one of our friends). The problem is that while these were supposed to be relaxing evenings, where we all got together with the idea of doing something different and have fun, they turned out to be a nightmare.
And so, armed with this information, I go off to inform my significant other of the news. Wish me Luck.

The Challenge: A role playing game should be versatile. It should allow various different types of characters, all of whom can interact effectively with each other. However, game balance alone is not the only difficulty when making a versatile game. The fifth challenge of creating an RPG comes into play: the challenge of game consistency.
Although players like variety, the point of having a role playing game system at all is to impose some degree of functionality to the game rules. Available abilities, what level of power the characters have to be to do certain things, and so on. This is game consistency, the ability for players who understand the basic rules to generally predict how individual rules will interact with the game as a whole.
An RPG displays its consistency in a number of ways. Character power is chief among them. Although one might say that any foe can be dangerous, a character who can reliably take on an adult dragon should not have to fear a street urchin with a knife in anything that even vaguely resembles a fair fight. A character who can spot the rare and subtle mistakes of a master assassin should have little difficulty locating a scared child hiding beneath a table. Extenuating circumstances might applyif the warrior is sleeping or the scout isn’t even paying attention to its surroundings, for examplebut generally speaking, characters of a given level of power should always possess the advantages of that level.
The basic game rules and rules for character design are also important. If the monsters and villains have different design rules than the characters, it leads to inconsistency. An individual group might purposefully limit character options based on genre or level of power (you simply cannot play an ancient dragon if the story is for low-level adventurers). However, this is the group’s prerogative. If the game applies the limits for them, it inhibits both variety and consistency, because now the game either shortchanges or overpowers the players’ characters in comparison to the opponents they will encounter.
The Risk: An inconsistent game runs a greater than normal risk of being an imbalanced game. The same rules should apply in all situations. If they don’t, it creates a loophole to exploit. You might think that offering lower-power characters certain advantages (beginner’s luck, maybe) over much stronger foes, but all this does is cheapens the value of character power and compromises the consistency of the game. If characters of different levels of skill exist in your RPG, they should have all due advantages over less adept individuals.
An inconsistent game also prevents the players from fully understanding the game rules as an overview. They have to learn every single detail to prepare themselves effectively for a game. Sure, this level of preparation is laudable and often tactically valuable in any case, but it should not be a requirement. A role playing game remains just thata game. The moment it becomes more work than fun, it ceases to be successful, no matter how versatile or balanced it may be.
An inconsistent RPG often makes players feel like they don’t actually have any control over the flow of the story, always a bad thing. As was noted in a previous article, if players wanted to passively watch a story unfold around them, they could read a book or watch a movie. Inconsistency limits the player’s ability to make rational choices, because there may always be some other rule or modification that throws them off. This example may hold true only in extreme cases of inconsistency, but remains an important point to note.
Inconsistency doesn’t always weaken players, though. It also threatens balance by creating loopholes. In an inconsistent RPG, certain things follow different rules, and some of those rules are probably more or less beneficial than other ones. A cunning player will notice these options, and learn how to exploit as many as possible to create a much more powerful character than the game intends.
The Solution: The reason that I continue to use the preference system for QoTR is because it solves so many of these challenges in and of itself. If all characters, player and referee alike, follow the same rules for character design, have the same availability of abilities, and get the same benefits and limitations from their choices then the game maintains consistency.
The preference system not only helps consistency by keeping the rules working the same, but also by allowing players to choose their abilities regardless of character type. A mage can be stealthy and resistant to damagenecromancers, nature mages, and earth/air elementalists would all fit easily into that category. A warrior can attack multiple foes at once using swift weapon katas. A rogue can heal using pilfered devices or herbal potions brewed with the same knowledge that it uses to create lethal poisons. In this way, consistency actually improves variety, rather than opposing it.
Game consistency allows players to get the most out of a role playing game by understanding all the rules, and being able to utilize them effectively. An inconsistent game runs the risk of overpowering or shortchanging players due to loopholes and unexpected rules. By using the same rules for all characters, the game maintains consistency and can even offer improved variety, without sacrificing game balance.

Many World of Warcraft players today likes to buy WoW gold, items, accounts and power leveling sessions, but blizzard along with other players consider this an act of cheating. Well, you have the ability to enhance your character to a much higher level or better quality items, weapons, armors and other equipment with real money. It’s unfair for those players who does not have the extra cash to spare or would prefer to play it the old fashion way. But for example, we all know what Nintendo is right? Well when game shark came out did Nintendo try to stop or prevent them from selling? No, they didn’t. But of course, for those who chose to cheat the game was not required to play with others that didn’t want to cheat. So that is one conclusion as to why players and Blizzard does not approve of selling or buying gold.
Disruption from Warcraft gold farmers. Yes I’m sure we’ve all experienced that farming now a days have been a little difficult due to the overwhelming population of WoW gold farmers. If gold wasn’t able to be sold using real money the farmers wouldn’t exist and players would probably be able to enjoy the game more. Perhaps blizzard should enforce a law to farming? Or allow players to tag a mob and allow them preparation time to kill the mob they were targeting? Well, Blizzard is not a government and even if so, the government today isn’t perfect either.
Another reason why I can understand players hate the idea of buying/selling gold is because it disrupts the economy. If there is excess gold, then the value of gold drops and the value of the item will rise causing players to spend more gold on the item than what they would normally need to pay. Basic economics 101, inflation and deflation. A player can only farm an X amount of gold over a given period of time. The more gold there is, the more the item will cost, the more a player will have to farm unless they purchase the gold of course.
Well with all these problems involving selling gold, why hasn’t Blizzard done something? I believe they probably are working on a solution but believe it not, farmers do make up about 30% of their population. Somewhere in the back of their mind I’m sure they don’t want to get rid of all subscribers. What they do instead is ban a few at a time and they would be required to buy a new world of warcraft cd key. Extra cash flow for the mighty O Blizzard. Yes farmers and sellers do get their accounts banned. But have not heard of any buyers getting banned however. Lucky for us?
As some of you may know, another popular mmorpg publisher is Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) with their many leading titles including the first MMORPG hit EverQuest, Star Wars Galaxies, and EverQuest 2. Why am I bringing up SOE? Because they have introduced the Sony Exchange. The Sony Exchange is a secure market place for players to auction their currencies and items to other players for real cash. In return SOE of course takes in a small fee for themselves. Charming isn’t it? Well along with this new innovative idea, they also of plans of releasing a new game where they will be selling currencies and items themselves. That pretty much just beats the second paragraph of not cheating. But of course I’m sure they will create specific servers where the purchasing/selling of virtual assets will not be allowed.
If SOE is getting into the secondary market why can’t the players? I do wonder if Blizzard should decide to get into the secondary market themselves. Believe it or not, but World of Warcraft subscriber base more than quadruples what SOE has in total. As you can see SOE is accepting the new trend and making a huge load of profit, I’m sure Blizzard would follow up on the idea as well. EverQuest was the first mmorpg hit ever, Blizzard known for their real time strategy games now has the most popular mmorpg as well. I wouldn’t see why they won’t follow and collect some of the cash themselves. Overall, although we do not know of Blizzards intentions for those who buys WoW gold, I can say for sure that I do not know a single person who has gotten their accounts banned for buying WoW gold. Please understand that this article is only a matter of opinion and I hold no responsiblity to your actions. If you are interested in purchasing wow gold, visit http://www.buyingwowgold.com.
